WA Day celebrations

WA Day 2021 Haka

Today’s performance was incredible even in the pouring rain at the Fremantle fishing boat harbour for WA Day celebrations 🌧 another great opportunity to share our message to choose life.

We acknowledge Hauruia for choosing to stand with us and share in the beautiful energy of our culture.

We acknowledge all who showed up and stood with us to perform today. You could of been anywhere else today and you chose to be with us, so humbling.

Thank you to Nella Fitzgerald organiser of WA day Freo for inviting us to perform and to all who watched us and supported us near and far.

We love being able to empower and connect people through Haka and creating opportunities for people to experience. If you would like to Haka with us and share our message to choose life just send us a message

Anzac Day Haka and Corroboree (ABC News Sydney)

For the first time in Sydney, Indigenous & Māori groups joined in ceremonial dance yesterday to honour both Indigenous and non-Indigenous service personnel.

Organisations Haka For Life and Babana Aboriginal Mens Group joined to honour the Anzacs, united in the mission of reducing suicide across Australia and highlighting those who are facing challenges in life.

Two Haka were shared:

  • Ngati Toa Rangatira Haka – Ka Mate
  • Ngati Kahungunu Haka – Tika Tonu.

“The ‘Coloured Diggers Service’ [in Redfern] is the only service of its kind in Australia that firstly honours the First Nations People of Australia and Indigenous Māori for their contribution to the protection of Australia and New Zealand, dating back to the first Boer War in 1880,” Haka for Life posted on Facebook.
